Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving! Mom, Dad and Jordan came to STL Wednesday night and we all went to Oakdale on Thursday morning for Thanksgiving with the Hillyards. The food was great and Beatles Rock Band was fun to play for all! Everyone got to hold Ayrton so he was happy as well. Thanks so much to Mike and Susan for having us; we had a great time!

Here's a photo of Ayrton in his bib; all of the photos are in a new album in the gallery:

Happy One Month Birthday Ayrton!!

Time flies and I can't believe that Ayrton is already a month old. It seems like just a few days ago we brought him home from the hospital. I guess I should get used to this feeling. My mom had a little poem on the wall when I was growing up I don't remember all of it but the jest of it was that housework and other things can wait she was rocking her baby and babies do not last. So, that's what I'm doing too. I'm going to hold and rock him as much as I can now because in no time he will be up and about. So happy 1 month birthday Ayrton!!

Kent's photos of Ayrton

Amber and I visited Kent and Teresa on Sunday afternoon. Teresa held Ayrton while Kent did his magic with his camera. As always, the photos he took are stunning. Enjoy!

Tummy Time!

We've been doing tummy time with Ayrton each night. Speck took special interest in Ayrton during tummy time, maybe because he had the hiccups. Enjoy!

Ayrton's Name

Ayrton's name originally came from Aaron, since Ayrton Senna is Aaron's all-time racing hero. Ayrton Senna was a triple Formula 1 world champion and perhaps the most gifted and passionate driver ever. He died in 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix.

Once we started thinking about this name, Amber started doing research. We found that Ayrton's origin is Scottish/Gaelic, meaning "From the river Ayr". Since both of our families have Scottish roots and we loved the sound of the name, that was it!

Here's a photo we took today while at the doc. Ayrton's BR level is dropping rapidly so his Jaundice is getting much better!

Ayrton update - More photos

Ayrton is doing well. He's started to gain weight which is good. Yesterday the doctor started him on the bilirubin bed and formula to help cure his Jaundice. A nurse came to the house today and tested his level; they were lower than yesterday, so he's getting better! We go to the doc again tomorrow for another weight check and bilirubin test. He hates being stuck in the foot (don't we all).

I also setup a Google Picasa photo album for all of our photos; much easier than posting them one by one to the blog. I just uploaded a lot of new photos; check them out by clicking on the Picasa gadget on the right or by using this link:

He's here!

He's finally here! Ayrton Michael Geiger was born 10/16/2009 at 1:02AM. He weighed 6 lbs 13 oz. Amber did a super job; I'm so proud of her! Ayrton has lots of hair and is very active and alert. He also tries to talk in his sleep, just like the other Geiger boys!

Amber is recovering and doing well; we'll go home from the hospital Sunday afternoon. Thanks to everyone for your help and support!

I'll post some more photos and some video later today, so check back soon!

The waiting game

Friday all the girls from work threw me a wonderful surprise shower. It was so much fun seeing everyone since we are all in two buildings now. It was a great way to start the weekend. Last night Aaron and I finished packing up the bag. Baby G has two outfits to choose from when he comes home from the hospital. I also packed my mascara and lipstick. I know everyone says you really don't care how you look after you have a baby but none of those people know me very well. They should be happy I didn't pack a pair of heels just in case. I'm still working full time so Aaron has taken over dinner duty most nights because I'm just too tired by the end of the day.

Sleeping has become a bit of a problem. I wander though out the house looking for a comfortable place to sleep. Phoebe is my constant companion in my journey. She even sits outside the bathroom and waits for me. Poor dog is starting to look sleep deprived too. We both wonder how Phoebe and Speck will greet their new little brother. I know baby G has grown accustomed to their little barks after 9 months. Hopefully he will sleep through the barking. Because everyone knows that my girls love to bark.

37 weeks

Tomorrow I will be 37 weeks, which means Baby G is considered full term. Everyone is getting excited. My co Worker texted me to tell me that she dreamed we named the baby J Graffi Sebastian Jasper Geiger last night. Which has a nice ring to it but I think we may go another direction. Haha. I have things wrapping up at work, I'm going to be doing lots of in office desk work which will be fine for me. They are going to camp on the 23rd but decided not to take me. I really don't want to give birth in the woods so everyone wins there. It's weird to think about not going to work for three months but I know that time will fly just like the last nine months have and I will be back there all too soon.
I know baby G will arrive when he's ready and we cannot wait to meet him.

False Alarm

Monday afternoon I had horrible back pain. We thought it might be labor so we called the doctor and headed to the 5Th floor at St. Mary's. It wasn't labor it was kidney stones so baby G and I spent the next two days hanging out in the hospital. Not fun. They best part was that on Tuesday morning they did a sonogram and I got to see baby G. The tech called him Prince Harry because she said he had a whole headful of hair. He was also hanging out with his little hand holding his big toe which he put in his mouth several times while we were looking at him. It was very cool. She made several prints for me to give to Aaron as a Anniversary gift since Tuesday was our 2 year Anniversary. I got to come home yesterday but I can't drive or work for the next few days. My feet are sweeling up from all the inactivity, but we are only four weeks away from meeting our little guy. I told my nurse on Tuesday that I would be seeing her in a couple of weeks.

35 Weeks Along

We are down to the final weeks. My bag is all packed and we just have the waiting game. Last night we went and had maternity photos taken. We went to Life's Little Celebrations. Robyn was just awesome! She took some wonderful photos of Aaron and I. I can't wait to see the finish product, Robyn will post them on facebook so we will let everyone know. Robyn's website is: http://www.lifeslittlecelebrations.net. Other than that not a whole lot going on.

Tuesday is our two year anniversary. We have decided to keep it low key and just spend some quiet time together at home this weekend. We know that quiet time will be hard to come by in a few more weeks. Looks like brunch tomorrow, which is my favorite Sunday activity, will round out the weekend.

10 Weeks to go

I'm at 30 weeks and time is flying. It seems like yesterday I was ten weeks along. The doctor said that everything was prefect on our last visit. His little heartbeat is strong and me makes his presence known with very strong little kicks. We have most everything done thank goodness. Now it's just waiting for the little guy to arrive. We have brought Pooh Do home with us. Pooh Do is the much loved stuff dog that Aaron had when he was little. He does need a bath before baby G gets a hold of him.
Aaron and I also have some things planned to do before we have to find a babysitter. This weekend we are going to Momo's and a Cards game. Our anniversary is September 22 and that may be the last getaway we have before Baby G arrives. That is if I'm in any condition to get anyplace.

Baby room!

We finally finished getting the baby room ready. A couple of weeks ago, Amber spent the weekend with her parents so I could paint. I tried Valspar paint this time, which turned out really well with just a primer coat and one finish coat. Amber picked out the bedding first and then we matched the paint color to the bedding. By shear coincidence, the blue color is Gulf Oil Blue, my favorite racing car colors! One thing missing from the room is a Gulf Oil Aston Martin model, but I'll get that soon.

It feels good to have the room finished. Now all we have to do is wash all of his little clothes and wait for him to arrive!

Practice makes perfect

This weekend we had lots of practice for baby G's arrival. Saturday we went to see our friends Dave and Jen and their two beautiful boys Shane and Ian. Aaron got some practice feeding Shane and helping Ian put together a lego kit we got him. On Sunday we went with my parents, Crystal and our friend Sam's little guy Jackson to the zoo. He took right to Aaron and we had a great time showing him all the animals at the zoo. He was so into it, with big eyes pointing at everything. Jack was such a good boy today I wanted to keep him awhile longer.

looking forward

Know that I know how to do this Blogging thing I kinda like it. September 18th I'm getting maternity pictures taken. I'm really excited and looking forward to having some really beautiful photos to document baby G's travels into our lives. The best part is the week after baby G is born she comes over and does a whole infant/ family session. I can't wait. I know it's a splurge but well worth it! The place is called Life's Little Celebrations and this is the website if you want to check it out. www.lifeslittlecelebrations.net
Next week I have my first baby shower!! I'm really super excited about that. All these things make me realize that a baby is coming soon! Poor Speck was laying on my tummy this morning and Baby G kicked and it almost knocked her off..haha.

28 Weeks and counting

Time is flying and Aaron and I have been working hard to get things done before baby G arrives. Saturday we went to an all day birthing class. We had a great instructor and left with lots of great infromation. The one thing we have decided is that we will not call Aaron my birth coach. We both hate saying that. I have been thinking we will call him the team principal. He will be in charge for getting me to pit stops and keeping time looking for the lastest lap (contraction). We can get him some blue glasses and call him Falvio. haha.
Aaron has been working really hard to get the room done. It's so cute! I will post some photos soon. I have been washing all his little clothes getting them ready andI love the smell of dreft i've been using. 12 more weeks and We know they will fly by.

It's going to be a boy!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and had Amber's 2nd ultrasound. The first thing they told us was that it was a boy! We're both super excited! Baby Geiger now weighs about 12 ounces and is very active; he likes to move his arms back and forth. Amber says he'd getting ready for go-karts. :-)

Here are some photos from the ultrasound and a video of the 4D images. Enjoy!

Baby Geiger's 1st Sonogram!

Hi everyone,
As you may know, Amber's been having a tough time with nausea during the 1st trimester of her pregnancy. She had to spend a night in the hospital on Thursday, getting IV fluids and anti-nausea meds. On Friday, they did a sonogram, which was our first chance to see the baby!

The sonogram was really cool! We could see the heartbeat and also bloodflow on a cool color display. Here are some videos of the sonogram:

We hope you enjoy seeing these; we certainly did!
